Dinesh MN joined the Indian Police Service in 1995, belonging to the Rajasthan Cadre. He served as the Additional Director General of Police in Anti Corruption Bureau, Rajasthan. However, he gained widespread attention when he was arrested and jailed for seven years in the infamous Sohrabuddin- Tulsiram Prajapati encounter cases. In May 2014, he was released from jail and took charge as Inspector General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Rajasthan.

Under Dinesh's leadership, the Anti-Corruption Bureau unearthed a major corruption racket in the Mining Department of Rajasthan. This led to the arrest of 1983 batch IAS Officer Ashok Singhvi, who was working as the Mines Secretary. Dinesh's dedication and tenacity led to the exposure of this corruption racket that was causing a significant loss to the state exchequer.

Dinesh MN also supervised the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan, which led to the neutralization of dreaded gangster Anand Pal Singh and his gang in June 2017. Anand Pal Singh was carrying a reward of 5 lakhs and had been on the run from the police for years. However, under Dinesh's guidance, the SOG and Police teams succeeded in taking down the gang.

Dinesh MN's track record in the Indian Police Service is a testament to his bravery, perseverance, and dedication towards maintaining law and order.
