International driver’s licenses are not recognized in China. If you want to drive in China, you will have to get a Chinese drivers license.

Follow my 6-step guide, and you could be out on the open road in a matter of weeks:-D

Step1 Get a health certificate驾驶员体检
Step 2 Get your foreign driver license translated翻译驾照
Step3 Have all your documents photocopied 复印资料
（passport, current visa page, temporary registration form local police station, foreign driver license +one-inch color photos）
Step4 Head to the traffic police department 交管局
Step5 Study for the theory test 学习
Step6 Take the test 考试
