The 1970 Ford Torino 429 Cobra Jet was a muscle car that combined style and performance. It was part of the second generation of the Torino, which had a more sculpted and aerodynamic design than the first generation.
The 429 Cobra Jet was powered by a 429 cubic inch V8 engine that produced 370 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. This engine was available with a four-speed manual transmission or a three-speed automatic transmission.
Only about 7600 Torino Cobras were built in 1970, with the 429 Cobra Jet being the most desirable engine option.
It was one of the last American muscle cars to be built before the insurance industry cracked down on high-performance cars.
