Growing up in Santa Domingo Pueblo, Ricardo Caté has published his invigorating collection of illustrations "Without Reservations" in the Santa Fe New Mexican. Among other things, Caté derives his inspiration from the 1970s magazine MAD and the cartoonist Don Martin. While Caté has tried to get his cartoons syndicated by United Media, the company has yet to do so as they fear the country is unprepared to receive his illustrations at the time. In an interview with C-SPAN in 2013, Caté responds by saying "I think the country has been waiting 518 years for this cartoon."
