Do you remember when you were a kid and you would play with your friends and somebody would get a spark of inspiration and say hey let's get a ball and see who can kick it the farthest or let's RACE home or possibly they might say hey I got an idea, why don't we go over to the playground or to the park and see if we can climb up the hills, Whatever it was, somebody got spontaneous and came up with an idea that would be fun.
When you're at work you can be the same way and you can come up with ideas that will be fun and it doesn't necessarily mean games or not taking your job seriously I'm talking about you go to an event at a company or you find out you're at a person's house and you come up with something that you know will give them a little bit of satisfaction or they'll think hey that's pretty cool and that's something might be as simple as a small fire extinguisher to be used for cars as a gift when they buy, sometimes in companies I've worked with we would just show up at the company with a gift sometimes we would buy them lunch sometimes it would be just a matter of showing up with whatever it was we thought would make their day and usually doesn't mean we have to spend a lot of money now if you're making six figures it's probably a great idea to buy small gifts to give away and not worry about the cost because you can write it off on your taxes if your company will not expense it for you, there's very nice packages of chocolates that you can buy to give people that are not very expensive and they make a big impact also if you should happen to get any kind of script such as restaurant or grocery store script in amounts that are reasonable for you to give away and you can have a lot of fun with this because then you can you can use it as something else 2 present to your customer because it's not about the money but it really is about the value. In the days of these incredible inflationary times where things are getting very expensive people are getting used to the idea and they're willing to spend more money but when you present something to them like a little gift just something thoughtful it's really a better thing for you because it ensures that you are more of a professional thinking about your clients and not just selling to them and then going back to your office.
Go have fun today and enjoy coming up with ideas to boost sales and what other value can you give to your customer for the purposes of them doing business with you I'll give you a quick example when I was working in the service industry I used to tell people listen my phone is on 24/7 I don't always answer it but you can call me till 10:30 at night and sure enough this tonight I got a call at 10:00 o'clock and the customer was blown away that I picked up the phone but I now have an appointment tomorrow to meet with this customer. I can almost assure you by the time they're done with me they'll be buying something and that's because I enjoy what I'm doing and I'm going to have fun with them, I suggest you do the same thing.
