The owner of the Averești Winery, Constantin Duluțe, met with TV producer & journalist Andreea Stroe for an in-depth interview. They were accompanied by Ionuț Lupu, Viticulture Product Manager at Kwizda Agro Romania, in a vinery tour.
Mr. Duluțe revealed to the Digi24 TV channel audience the secrets of Averești quality wines and some future development plans for the winery.
Among these secrets is the spraying program implemented in the winery.
Mr. Constantin Duluțe (Owner of Averești Winery): ”I would like to emphasize that we use the best quality products, we work with a company named Kwizda Agro, from which we get 70% of the products. They sell us very good products, so we control the blight and the powdery mildew efficiently. And, as you can see the vineyard looks very good at the moment, the leaves are healthy, thanks to these products that we have been using year after year.”
Ionuț Lupu (Product Manager, Kwizda Agro Romania): ”We have two new formulations for two very old products on the market: sulfur and copper. Our sulfur-based product is called FLOSUL. It's formulation is a concentrated suspension, with a very small particle size, which allows FLOSUL to stick well to the leaf. It is also rain-resistant. That's what we're interested in, a contact product to stay on the leaf as long as possible, and this is possible because of this concentrated suspension formulation. The second product is FLOWBRIX, copper-based, also a concentrated suspension. Being a contact product, we have to take care that the FLOSUL product also stays as long as possible on the leaf. And both products have approval both for organic farming and for conventional farming.”
Regarding the expansion plans for the vinery, Mr. Duluțe revealed that they are going to launch a sparkling wine line.
Averești Winery is best known in the Romanian market for its 50% aromatic wines: Busuioaca de Bohotin, aromatic varieties of Sauvignon, aromatic Tămâioasă Românească and Muscat Ottonel. Averești Winery also is the only winery in Romania to produce an old variety - Zgihara de Huși.
