ABOUT ME:

D'Ron "D1" Maingrette started off as a Soul Calibur II player in the tri-state area of the United States of America. He came upon MLG Pro videos of Super Smash Bros. Melee players while perusing the general section of the SC2 forums. Seeing this changed his life forever, opening him up to new possibilities as a player in the Smash Bros. scene. After many years of dedicating his time as a top ten power ranked player in his region, he decided to give back to his scene by becoming a tournament organizer in New York City around 2009. From there he joined Team Apex as a commentator, and has been doing so ever since. Growing from local to worldwide talent. In 2015 D1 got hired as a representative of the Smash Bros. community at Twitch on the Partnerships team, allowing many streamers to make their dreams come true on the platform.
