Fort Dunlap was a World War II training facility about two hundred miles southeast of Los Angeles, in the California Desert.
Seventy years and countless one-hundred-and-twenty degree temperatures later, the decommissioned grounds are known as SLAB CITY, and serve as home to about one hundred and fifty year-round SQUATTERS.
“SLABBERS” is the story of a few of the city’s residents, and a look at the individualism that that forms this unique community.
