Budding Designers From The Indian Institute Of Gems And Jewellery, Mumbai Astonished The Viewers With Their Collections At The India International Jewellery Week 2014
The audience was amazed as the budding designers from the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery, Mumbai dazzled them with their collections at the India International Jewellery Week 2014 on 14th July at Grand Hayatt.
The Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery, Mumbai was setup by the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India and is backed by the sponsorship of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
The main course of the Institute is the Three-Year Diploma in Jewellery Design and Manufacturing. This course runs into six semesters and imparts comprehensive training from the ‘concept to marketing’ in all the fields of Jewellery Design and Manufacture including Model Making, Metal Setting, Soldering, Casting, Soldering, Filing and Finishing, Refining, CAD-CAM, Production Technology, Gemology, Diamond Grading, Art and Jewellery History, Communication Skills, Effective Supervision and Sales and Marketing Strategies.
The sole aim of this Institute is to prepare highly skilled professionals to meet the ever growing demands of the rapidly expanding gems and jewellery industry, which is mainly export-based and has been the third largest foreign exchange earner for our country. Fully supported by the gems and jewellery industry, it is a Non-Profit Organization solely committed to excellence in education.
Five collections were presented by six designers who revealed their exceptional talents on the ramp with nearly 45 fabulous sets comprising necklaces, rings, earrings, maang tikkas, bangles, bracelets, cummerbunds, armlets etc.
Amruta Patki, former Miss India International 2006 winner ended the show modeling with a beautiful Diamond choker set for Mehul dressed in a gorgeous South Indian creation. Neha used the traditional technique of enamel to add that touch of stunning style to her jewellery. Setting the stage on fire the models walked with the beautiful bridal jewellery for Baljinder. Her collection comprised of bridal jewellery for event like Mehendi, Sangeet, Ferahs and Reception. Ending the show for Forum Shah and Raina Bhansali was lovely Mihika Verma, star of the popular TV series “Yeh Hai Ashiqui” who wore a lovely pearl necklace attached with a floral brooch studded with gemstones. Stopping the show for Harshini was the very sexy Gauhar Khan modelling a glamorous set consisting of Diamonds, Emeralds and Citrines
