Travel credit cards are an excellent way to save money and earn rewards when you travel. In this video, we will discuss 5 of the best credit cards for travel right now. Most of our time will be spent on cards that earn flexible and/or transferrable points because they can be used for the widest variety redemptions.

And since many travel credit cards categorize ‘travel’ differently, we’ll divide the video into different sections based on the best rewards for flights, hotels, rental cars, and a couple other more general categories.

The Amex Platinum Card is highly rewarding for flights, allowing you to earn 5X Amex Membership Rewards points when booking directly on the airline websites or via the Amex Travel portal (on up to $500K spent per year).

The Chase Sapphire Reserve also earns 5X on flights - as well as 10X on hotels and rental cars - but only through the Chase Travel portal. Otherwise, the card earns 3X on general travel outside the portal and 3X on dining.

The Capital One Venture X is perhaps the best premium travel credit card with minimal hassle. It earns 2X on all purchases as its base rate, as well as 10X on hotels and rental cars (via the Capital One Travel portal) and 5X on flights (via the same portal).
