Lindsay Borden, M.D., a fellowship-trained gynecologic oncology surgeon, shares encouragement to vaccinate those who are eligible against the human papilloma virus (HPV) as HPV can cause both head & neck and cervical cancers. According the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 90% of cancers caused by HPV could be prevented with the HPV vaccine. The CDC and the Riverside Cancer Care Network recommend HPV vaccine for boys and girls, beginning age 9.
