The tendon at the elbow in the forearm called the distal biceps tendon connects muscle to bone and allows us to move our arm. Rupturing of the distal biceps tendon may be caused by heavy lifting, eventual wear and tear from overuse or injury to the tendon. Arthrex’s Distal BicepsButton™ in combination with the tension slide technique is used to repair the ruptured distal biceps tendon, allowing the surgeon to repair the biceps tendon back to bone through a small, single incision. Anchoring the tendon with the cortical button and interference screw creates a strong repair that may allow for early range of motion.
