Maintaining a 20th-century zoo requires constant renovations and ongoing work! On this Taronga TV episode, we are taken behind the scenes with Michael McFadden Taronga's Herpetofauna Supervisor who gives us a run through as to how a breeding facility is set up for the Northern Corroboree Frog.
It is estimated that around 70% of the Northern Corroboree Frog population was affected during the devastating bushfire season. It is for this very reason a breeding facility is being set up onsite at Taronga so we can manage an insurance population which will one day in the near future be released into the wild.
