Last moments on the last day, between Che Guevara and a lady teacher named Julia Cortes (In Bengali : চে গুয়েভারা এবং একজন শিক্ষিকা জুলিয়া কর্টেজ : শেষের দিন )---this story took place at La Higuera, a small village of Bolivia on 9th October, 1967. The meeting was totally unexpected to Julia Cortes as she met such a guerrilla fighter who was none other than America's most wanted Communist Revolutionary leader, Che Guevara whom she did not know at all at that time. Later , pretty 22-year-old Julia described Che as a handsome, gentle and intelligent man. When she asked him why he was fighting against the Bolivian Army, he calmly replied that it was fighting for the poor, humble and the dispossessed. He also said that he was there because of his ideals. After little bit conversation, Che asked Julia for some food, and Julia brought him some soup from her home. He was so hungry that he ate it all without catching a breath. After that, Julia, the teacher returned home. During meal time, she heard sounds of shots. Leaving the meal, she immediately started running back to the school. At the doorway, she managed to see Che Guevara lying on ground, lifeless, eyes open, surprisingly calm and peaceful. Che's face exactly looked like that of Jesus Christ. Julia had a belief that there would ever be another like him, ever.

Now, regarding this meeting, it is a fact that Julia was the last civilian who saw Che Guevara alive, and who gave him the last food.
