(8 Sep 2018) Afghan officials say at least 16 people, including women and children, have been killed in a traffic accident in the country's southern Kandahar province.
Abdul Hamid Afzali, Kandahar's traffic police director, says 25 others were injured early on Saturday morning when a passenger bus collided with a truck in Zhari district.
He said the truck had experienced "techical problems".
A number of the injured were seen recieving medical treatment at Mirwais Regional Hospital.
Traffic accidents are common in Afghanistan with most accidents on main highways due to wreckless driving at high speeds.
The bad condition of most roads is another factor.
