This is a recording for the Subersive Catwalk fashion show when was held as part of the Women, Fast Fashion and Climate Crisis event led by Artist Maggie Scott ant a:dress Fashion.
Fashion is the second most-polluting industry in the world after oil and produces more greenhouse emissions than international flights and shipping combined. It is one of the largest consumers of freshwater on the planet.
Women are targeted by, and vulnerable to, the fashion industry. We are also disproportionately affected by climate crisis.
Maggie Scott and ‘a:dress’ – a creative venture started in Folkestone by spoken word poet Leah Thorn, to raise awareness of fast-fashion pitfalls, and explore how we can increase our ability to think clearly and act effectively to challenge fast fashion and climate crisis.
This workshop held on 21st May at Hastings Contemporary
