This is an illustrated audio recording of the Book of 2 Nephi Chapter 4 of the Restored Covenant Edition of the Book of Mormon (RLDS versing). The prayer Nephi said.
The RCE edition of the Book of Mormon is closer to the original manuscript than other editions and is set up to bring out the covenants and the need to come unto Jesus Christ. This reading is word for word with no added commentary.
The RCE version of the Book of Mormon was done by the Zarahemla Research Foundation in 1999. This is a quote from the team of researchers:
"The Restored Covenant Edition (RCE) has been prepared because, according to our testimony, the Lord directed us to do it:
1. to restore the purity of the Book of Mormon-restoring words from the manuscripts that were either left out or changed,
2. to restore the main purpose of the Book of Mormon which is to restore a knowledge of the covenants,
3. to restore a knowledge of the underlying spiritual name of the Book of Mormon which is Book of the Restoration of the Covenant because "Mormon" means restoration of the covenant,
4. to restore the poetic nature of the text making it easier to read and to comprehend and making it easier to identify various types of Hebrew poetry and
5. to restore a natural versification (independent of verse numbers) by grouping like thoughts together through the use of blank lines thus making it easier to comprehend."
The Book of Mormon is an ancient record of the tribe of Joseph and their journey to the land which is now called North America. It is a record of the Native Americans. I hope you enjoy this Restoration audio book!
