Ghetto Doggs, for those who are unaware.
Ghetto Doggs is a straight hardcore and most notorious group in the Philippine Rap Industry from Andrew Es Dongalo Wreckords. Its a collection of artist from the same label head by the Pooch.
Ghetto Doggs is more an alter ego of those artist from Dongalo Wreckords, were they let their anger and madness comes out. The concept was formed in the mid of 1995, each group from the 1st generation already started recording their songs.
Until a news break out about the Payumo Massacre in Sta. Rosa Laguna in September 17, 1995, a day after it, they recorded the song 5:30. The album target released is on Nov 1 or 2 1995 for the Undas but was released around last week of November on the same year.
Most of them are staying in a house rented by the owner of the label for the artists to live by, for easy access to everyone especially when theres an immediate recordings, gigs and brainstorming.
With no tv and radio airplay the album was a success and reached the platinum marker in few months from release. The debut album focuses on every bad things happening in the country especially the Sta. Rosa massacre, the drug pushers, rapist etc. My personal favorite from the album, which for me in list is Hayop by IPK and Ang Mga Nagtutulak, performed by DFT.
On the 2nd album. The most baddest and hardest one. The same album that marked the beginning of the so called Rap Game. It was so hardcore that it disses some of the previous artist from the same label and some rappers who are messing with them. As for me personally, when the tape 1st landed in my hand. I even felt scared just with the cover itself.
Then came 1999 when they released the 3rd one. Though i always knew what had happened, i was really surprised with the every songs from the album. This time Pooch already reached the maximum of his anger. From Babala til the last song. The 3rd Ghetto Doggs is composed of the new generation of Dongalo Wreckords.
