This is how I sell cash-secured puts for monthly income.💸

When selling a cash-secured put, I’m selling the right, not obligation, to someone to sell their 100 shares to me for a certain price by a certain date. Usually, this price is a discounted price that I want to buy the shares for.

This is a powerful income strategy that many people use to collect premiums each month while getting shares for a cheaper price. Warren Buffett uses this strategy too!

When choosing the stock, I personally follow CTL guidelines that help reduce risk. You don’t want to choose a weak company (ex. IPOs, meme stocks, penny stocks, etc) because you don’t want to be an investor in poor/risky companies. Here are my guidelines:

1. Part of the S&P500/DOW30
2. Fundamentally strong
3. Technically strong
4. Most likely pays a dividend

And yes, if I’m able to buy these shares, I can then sell covered-calls to collect more income each month.
