Two fantastic easy hikes in Banff National Park Canada. The scenic Peyto Lake Overlook trail and the very picturesque Bow Lake shoreline trail that leads to the base of Bow Glacier Falls.
Located in a valley of the Waputik Range, this glacier-fed lake will appear dark blue in the spring but will gleam a bright turquoise colour in the summer due to rock flour, silt-sized particles from glacial erosion, that flow into the lake in the warmer months. The lake looks straight out of a painting and is just as colourful in person as it is in photos.
A must-see Canadian Rockies lake is gorgeous Bow Lake. From its north shore, the Bow Glacier Falls trail leads to the base of impressive Bow Glacier Falls flowing from the Bow Glacier. Rated as an easy to moderate hike, the trail is 8.4km (5.6mi) return and will take around 3 hours to complete.
