2016 3V Lithium Coin Battery

This video shows how to change battery in Toyota Camry remote entry key FOB 2012 through 2017 . The replacement battery is CR2016. This is a easy DIY replacement that can be done in less than 5 minutes. No reset or additional steps are needed after replacing the battery. The key design for Toyota Corolla and Camary is also identical.

Tools Required:
Large screw driver, small screw driver, coin

Step 1: Open the outer shell. On the upper corner of the key is a small slot. Using the large screw driver separate the outer shell.

Step 2: Open the inner battery & electronic shell. Using a coin separate this inner shell. The location of placing the coin is shown on this shell (top left corner). Insert & twist the coin to separate the inner shell.

Step 3: Remove the old battery using the small screw driver. Then insert a fresh battery.

Step 4: Reassemble the inner battery shell by putting the half's together and pressing it together till all the clips snap in place.

Step 5: Put the outer shell together by pressing the two helps in place. Make sure all sides are secured in place.
