Charles Elton was the ‘Father of Ecology’, and paved the way for all the research that is now done in Oxford University’s outdoor laboratory, Wytham Woods.
His detailed and quirky diaries – written over twenty years of study – offer an intriguing insight into this groundbreaking period, and represent the first time many scientific observations had ever been made, preserved on paper to offer today’s researchers a window into the past. Featuring interviews with Caroline Pond, Ceri Watkins and Keith Kirby.
