Mumbai sea bridge popularly known as Bandra-Worli sea link over the Arabian sea at Mumbai, India. Bandra-Worli sea link (accronymed as BWSL) is a cable-stayed bridge in the shape of the crescent moon on the Arabian sea that links Bandra in the western suburbs of Mumbai with Worli in south Mumbai. The official name of the Bandra–Worli Sea Link is Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link. The 5.6 kilometres long sea-link reduces travel time between Bandra and Worli during peak hours from 60 minutes to 10 minutes. This sea link has 4 lanes of traffic in each direction. And all eight lanes of the bridge were opened to the public on 24 March 2010. A total of 264 cables are used at Bandra side. And a total of 160 cables are used at Worli side. The Bandra-Worli sea link (BWSL) is not accessible to the pedestrians, two-wheeled cycles and three-wheeled vehicles. The bridge is a part of the proposed Western freeway that will link the Western Suburbs to Nariman Point in Mumbai's main business district.
