Many visitors to Sydney have fond memories of encountering flying-foxes. Lachlan Swamp within Centennial Park is only 4km from the City of Sydney & home to 1000’s of grey-headed flying-foxes. These fruit bats are essential pollinators of Australia’s characteristic gum trees, aka eucalypts, they are also important seed dispersers (e.g. fig trees).
