After years of delays and missed deadlines, Uganda's Karuma Hydropower Plant is finally operational. The hydropower station in Kiryandongo District was commissioned by President Yoweri Museveni today. Uganda has now taken a significant step toward energy sufficiency, but President Museveni warns that the country’s power generation capacity still remains insufficient to meet future demands.
