Suan Puttha Tham (สวนพุทธธรรม), which literally means the ‘Buddha's Dhamma Garden’, is a popular meditation centre in a forest surrounding Wat Umong (วัดอุโมงค์), an ancient Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai (เชียงใหม่), located in a 37.5 rai wooded area southwest of the old city centre. It features meditation halls and walkways fitted with plaques of texts and depictions promoting wisdom and the Buddhist dharma (धर्म). There are also a number of statues, such as a bronze torso of the bodhisattva (बोधसत्त्व) Avalokitesvara (अवलोकितेश्वर), placed on a pillar in a pond with goldfish, as well as of Shou (寿), the Chinese god of longevity, who is traditionally depicted with a hump on his forehead, and holding a dragons staff in one hand and a peach in the other.
