The highest point of the Mahabharat range in the Kathmandu area is thought to be Narayanthan; Sailung Dada is the highest point in Nepal. The top of the hill is home to a revered Vishnu temple, which is why the hill is named Narayanthan. The locals say that on Fagu Purnima, the temple grows busier. Another name for this location is Bethanchowk. It is situated 25 kilometers from Dhulikhel and 55 km from Kathmandu on the southern edge of Kavre. It is necessary to take a local bus from Kavre or a direct bus from Kathmandu to get to Dhungkharka. Depending on your walking speed, the entire hiking trip from Dhungkharka to the summit of Bethanchowk, Narayanthan hill, takes four to five hours.
