The Delhi Cops detained journalist and Alt-Media co-founder Mohammad Zubair on Monday for allegedly infringing on religious sentiments, according to authorities. According to K P S Malhotra, DCP (Cyber Crime), a prosecution was previously registered against Zubair under sections 153A (promoting enmity among various groups on basis of religion, racial group, birthplace, language, etc.) and 295A (purposeful and harmful act intended to uproar religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code. Zubair joined the investigation on Monday and was detained after assembling sufficient proof, according to Malhotra. He stated that Zubair is being brought before a magistrate to seek police remand.
