Last week, a few members of the National Students’ Union of India - the student wing of the Congress - lit a pair of khaki shorts on fire outside state education minister BC Nagesh’s home. This was done in protest against the alleged ‘saffronisation’ of school textbooks in the state.
Following this, on Sunday, Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Siddaramaiah said, “NSUI members burnt the chaddi in front of cops. So what? We will burn chaddis everywhere to protest against RSS.”
