My 2000 mile journey to bring 2250oz of donor milk home to my son. Thank you candidmommy for being wonderful! Here is how I was able to travel on an airplane with breast milk.
Keep your luggage under 50lbs or the airlines will have major fees.
Fill in extra space with newspaper to keep the milk from moving around and to help with insulation.
No need for dry ice or bagged ice. The cold from the milk will keep it frozen for up to 10+ hours.
Once stored in cooler, duct tape all around the top to form a seal.
**TSA will most likely check your cooler when they check it in security. Thats ok. They usually will tape it back for you.
** Make sure to let the people at the ticket counter know what you are shipping. Most will not charge you at all for the milk : )
