Seen here is a ride on a 1 train, operated by R62A, bound for South Ferry.

Due to station maintenance, downtown 1 trains ran express from 96 Street to Times Square and 14 Street to Chambers Street. Passengers who want bypassing stations would transfer at Times Square or Chambers Street for uptown 1 train service.

It’s been a while I did a 1 to South Ferry since the last time I did one was three years ago, but this time, I did something different. Since this was weekend work, downtown 1 train was going express and I decided to do one going downtown express along the 7th Avenue section towards Times Square, then again to Chambers Street due to station structural work or in this case: “re-NEW-vations”, thus painting the columns black and washing the platforms to be more cleaner and more moderate for passengers to rely on.

Although I did stop when I got to 125 Street due to a homeless coming onto the train and was smoking in the car, but he put it out and I just ignored the rampage of his tyrant and just continued to record on towards South Ferry.

In the end, it later made its way out and headed back uptown to from there, although I wanted to hear a brake throw, but since they put these trains through a lot of maintenance, no brake throw wasn’t heard. But at least I got the fun out of this ride.
