Linah Productions' own Bongo Gugu Funani starred in Gqeberha: The Empire as the character terrorizing others and demanding money.
Reflecting on his experience, he shared, "Firstly, I was nervous. I wasn't sure if I could do this, but the people who were helping me told me to be calm, and I tried my best. What I enjoyed the most was the role I played because I was very opposite of what I am in real life. It required my skills in easily changing my attitude or how I am. It was the best experience I had."
