Fridays are a busy one for me, I didn’t have much time to play on the kit today, the time I did have I spent mostly playing with camera angles. Recorded this short video to give myself an idea of what I can do in iMovie with an extra camera angle.
The result being a complete pain in the butt!To edit with 3 video tracks in iMovie is a complete nightmare, so many work arounds and pointlessly tedious exports of files. I remember having Final Cut Pro back in the day and this was never an issue.
As time goes on, my plan from now is to begin to study developing and shaping sounds, raw and already processed, to make my drums sound better in the mix. I’m well aware my drums probably sound awful in most videos, I’m a complete novice.
I’m not 100% sure if they sound better in this video or not than the last, I hope they do, I turned all the faders on the module to 0, and lowered in GarageBand instead, I had them turned down a bit before on the module faders and GarageBand, I think it made the drums sound a bit flat
I think exploring shaping sounds and improving my drumming are more important right now than spending thousands on editing software and better cameras.
Whether I gain subscribers, views or likes, or not, I will continue to make these videos, it’s been doing wonders for my mental health, I’m enjoying documenting and analysing my progress so much. If I ever get to a point where I have a couple of thousand subscribers I’ll definitely consider dropping some money on video editing software and better cameras.
For now, this is the rough format for my videos and is about the best I can achieve without spending hours editing one video.
Thanks everyone for the continued kind words and support. It is appreciated as well as the constructive criticism which I am very much open to
