A massive fire consumed a strip mall Friday night on the Eastern Shore. The fire was reported inside the Family Dollar on Washington Avenue in Chestertown. Heavy smoke billowed and flames shot out from the store. Firefighters said the building's roof collapsed. It was not immediately known whether anyone was injured. A cause of the fire remains under investigation.
