In this video I show how I prep my tiger bark ficus bonsai for a repot. I start by leaf pruning the tree, I didn’t want to defoliate it because I had already done so earlier this summer. Leaf pruning or defoliating before a repot is really helpful because the tree doesn’t waste all the energy on the leaves and instead directs some of that energy into creating new roots. This tree with be placed in the shade for a few weeks until I see new growth and then placed in full sun.
