Hike up in the dark to get a glimpse of the legendary blue fire of Kawah Ijen, witness the manual sulfur mining trade, admire the sun rise from the crater lake and enjoy the view from the peak of an active volcano.
The blue fire has this majestic glow that’s really enchanting. It makes the 1am wake up call, pitch black hike, and thick sulfuric air worth it. Regrettably, I’m not equipped with a camera that can decently capture it.
