Poland received the M1A1 Abrams main battle tank and HIMARS artillery rocket systems ordered from the USA.
Polish Minister of Defense Mariusz Błaszczak announced that the new batch of M1A1 Abrams tanks ordered from the USA has arrived in the country. Mariusz Błaszczak announced in his post that the delivery included 26 M1A1 Abrams tanks.
Today is a busy day for the port in Świnoujście. After the HIMARS artillery rocket systems were unloaded from the ship, the unloading of 26 M1A1 Abrams tanks began. “The equipment will immediately go to our soldiers.”
In addition to this tank delivery, Poland also received HIMARS artillery rocket systems. With this delivery, 11 HIMARS arrived in Poland. Poland has so far received 16 systems within the scope of the contract signed with the USA in 2019. With this delivery, the number became 27.
The last of the systems arriving in Poland is the M88A2 HERCULES technical support vehicles. This delivery included 9 M88A2 vehicles. Within the scope of the contract signed between the USA and Poland, 12 M88A2 HERCULES vehicles have been delivered so far.
The first batch of M1A1 Abrams tanks, which Poland procured from the USA, arrived in Szczecin, Poland, in June 2023. The tanks coming from the USA were welcomed by Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak and a high-level Polish military delegation. The first delivery included 14 M1A1 Abrams tanks and the M88A2 Hercules vehicle. So far, a total of 40 M1A1 Abrams tanks have arrived in the country.
