On Friday 19th June 2015 there was a bit of disruption to services through Retford during the afternoon. The 14:41 departure for Kings Cross (1Y86) was held in platform 1 for over half an hour due to a failure ahead between Newark and Grantham.
The following fast service from Leeds to Kings Cross (1A34) was held at signals just north of the station rather than on the fast line through the station (to save passengers sitting at a lean on the canted track?).
Eventually, 91 106 was allowed to propel its train south just as a Hull Trains service left northwards.
The 1A34 service was now allowed into the station on the fast line, and after a brief pause, set off for London.
The following Edinburgh to Kings Cross service also came through slowly on the fast line.
The final (poor) shot show a DBS class 67 heading to the rescue. As it was not scheduled, it caught me unawares, so apologies for the poor footage as I rushed to get the camera out and working. I've included it just to complete the sequence of events.
