40% off at Aldi, Inverter Generator. £89 down from £149
absolutely shocked at watt power tools this was able to power. Very impressed.
For a pure sine wave inverter that's pretty unusual, only did a quick startup and test video.
Initially test was decibels at 6mtr range and at close range (taken next to the generator) got 79db at close range.
60gb at 6mtrs
it's a 4 stroke single cylinder, run on normal unleaded. Not an unpleasant sound but would be quieter as a V-twin rather than a single.
This happily powered a 1100 watt mitre saw with no overload tripped. But will trip the overload switch trying to run 800-1000 watt electric hot plate. probably because the surge is around 1500 watts.
it's nice and light, with a easy handle to carry around on the top. Overall for a sub £100 pure sine wave inverter generator, seems ok.
Is it SILENT? absolutely not; not even remotely silent. Even £500 silent generators still register low 50-60 dbs.
would I use it on a campsite? Yes I would but only if I was 10-20 mtr away from another campervan or tent.
Does it have an ECO mode? No it doesn't, which is a shame, would make a nice addition.
