And now to the latest development in the South Korean doctors' dispute over the government's promise to train hundreds of additional doctors to battle future epidemics.
The nation's health minister Park Neung-hoo says the government will make preparations to minimize disruption,... just a day before the doctor's scheduled all-out strike on August 7th.
"The government will prepare substitute medical staff for essential situations like in emergency rooms and ICUs to minimize the possible damage to the Korean public."
The minister added that the government will pull all the strings to possibly resolve their differences through dialogue, before the mass walk-out on Friday.
Health Minister Park Neung-hoo is scheduled to make a final appeal against the strike at 11 AM today at the Seoul Government Complex.
The South Korean government earlier announced that it will go ahead and add 4-thousand medical students over the next 10 years to swell the number of doctors and boost the response to future public health crises.
To this,… the doctors association said they will go on strike this Friday and on August 14th ,… as a way to express their dissatisfaction over the decision.
