She initially worked as an assistant web designer at the university where she studied her bachelor's degree and later became a full-fledged web designer at a publishing company. However, she decided to make a change and explore something different. She chose to study at Breda University of Applied Sciences for two main reasons.
Firstly, she wanted to be part of an international programme to gain more experiences and broaden her horizons. Breda University of Applied Sciences is internationally oriented, and everyone speaks excellent English, which has been very helpful to her. Secondly, she appreciated that the Master of Media Innovation programme was more compact compared to other master's programmes in Europe. Most master's studies take about two years, but since Stefani was already in the middle of her career, she didn't want to take a long pause. Studying this master's programme for one year worked better for her, despite being more intensive, because it ultimately benefitted her career.
Stefani highlights that prior knowledge is not necessary to enrol in the Master of Media Innovation programme. The programme provides all the tools and resources needed to succeed. Students from various backgrounds, such as IT, design, business, marketing, and research, come together in this master's programme. Collaborative group work is an essential part of the programme, requiring students to communicate, create groups, and work together as they would in a real industry setting. It is a valuable learning experience where students can also learn from their classmates.
