(8 Jun 2016) Hundreds of migrants and refugees who arrived in the Sicilian port of Pozzallo on Wednesday were being placed on buses to be sent to a reception centre in northern Italy, according to authorities.
The Italian coast guard ship "Fiorillo" that docked in Pozzallo on Wednesday had 223 migrants and refugees on board.
The group - made up of 170 men, 24 women and 29 children from Eritrea, Somalia, Sudan, Egypt and Syria - were rescued at sea on Tuesday, according to Italian coast guard officials.
