At 23:20hrs, after finishing with a 2min unscheduled halt at Amla Junction in Madhya Pradesh, Monster ED WAP-4# 22221 accelerates with 12625 Thiruvananthapuram (TVC) New Delhi (NDLS) Kerala Express. The person keeping the torch on is RPF jawan (Railway Protection Force). He was doing inspection in darkness if any ruthless element is present on the railway tracks at night. There was nothing to worry if RPF jawan would have complained to Amla railway staff through walkie talkie as I was in Madhya Pradesh with a 1 week videography and photography permit.
I wasnt aware in the beginning that this train halts at Amla. I was nearly 23 coaches behind thinking that this train will thunder at 110kph and when I saw this train slowing down, I started running really fast so that I could capture its departure in the nick of time. Everything is fair and fine for capturing a legend like Kerala Express.
12625 Kerala Express covers 3034kms with 40 halts in 50hrs 25mins at an average speed of 60kph.
12626 Kerala Express covers 3034kms with 40 halts in 51hrs 5mins at an average speed of 59kph.
Also it undergoes reversal at Ernakulam Junction. Erode (ED) WAP-4 hauls it from Ernakulam - New Delhi - Ernakulam for 2814kms. Royapuram (RPM) WAP-4 hauls it from Thiruvananthapuram - New Delhi - Thiruvananthapuram for 220kms.
