The Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year Parade started on Market Street in the Financial District, made its way through downtown, and ended on Kearny Street in Chinatown. The celebrations in San Francisco for Chinese New Year last 2 weeks. It starts off with the Chinese New Year Flower Fair held in Chinatown (January 19-20) a week prior to Chinese New Year Day. In between are the Miss Chinatown USA Pageant, New Years Day Celebrations, and more. To conclude the festivities are the Community Fair and the Chinese New Year Parade. The Flower Fair and Community Fairs (February 8-9) are held in Chinatown San Francisco along Grant Street. The Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year Parade is regarded as one of the most popular parades in the world, plus being one of the few NIGHT* parades to still be held. The San Francisco Year of the Rat CNY Parade held on Saturday, February 8, 2020.
