On the backfoot, the Byzantine Empire finds itself fearing the death of its glorious realm. It fears the end of rightful Roman civilization, and the advanced age of Manuel Komnenos isn't helping. His heir, Alexios, is a mere child who everyone knows is destined for death, but with just the right circumstances, maybe this child emperor can find a way to save the Roman World.

Along the way, Alexios will have to face Saladin, and his great armies that have already defeated the Latin Crusaders. Saladin will one day become a true rival for the emperor, but for the time being, he's a distant boogeyman.

Enjoy the story of Alexios Komnenos, the Dragonslayer, and his rise from child emperor, to Augustus of the Restored Roman Empire.
