Time management is one of THE most difficult aspects of nursing to become skilled at. This is an example of how to organize your day if you are working in long term care, however the principles would surely help you great hospital nurses as well.

My recommendations:
- Write out any blood sugars and random med times next to their name on your report sheet.
- Write down who has IVs, write down your treatments in a different color or on the back of your sheet all in a row.
- Prioritize what you need to do based on time.
If someone has a doctor's appointment, do their meds first.
If someone has dialysis, make sure you give them their meds before they leave.
- Grab your blood sugars before they eat.
This is just a starting point, and may not work for everyone. But it helped me when I worked the floor and I'm sure it will help at least one of you lovely nurses.
We are Benomi (Benjamin and Naomi) two experienced RNs here to help you take what you've learned in nursing school and put it into practice.
