With top political names from two parties involved, the Delhi liquor scam - also called the Delhi excise policy case - is one among the two most high profile corruption cases in the country at this moment. The other being land for jobs scam involving the family of Lalu Yadav. The Delhi liquor scam case was initially registered by the CBI in July last year, and investigations have proceeded swiftly. Investigating agencies - that are the CBI and the ED - now have a fairly good idea of who were the principal players in the scam, and what role they played. Of course, at this point of time, it must be remembered that all these are allegations made by the ED and the CBI. Trial and convictions, if any, will take a long time.
