Insight Today: How Metland Indonesia deals with weaker residential purchasing power
Metland Indonesia is addressing the challenge of weaker residential purchasing power by expanding with residences that are attractive to consumers due to pricing, the 'growing house' concept, and sustainable features.
Landed houses are still the most popular type of property in Indonesia, with 76% of online property searches from June to December 2022 targeting them. To deal with high demand and reduced purchasing power,
Metland is adjusting to deliver more affordable products targeting the middle, lower middle and slightly upper middle segments. The company has designed products with lower selling prices based on the fixed monthly incomes that many of its customers make as employees.
Metland also offers various facilities to attract consumers, such as public facilities for outdoor activities, a clubhouse, and access to public transportation modes. In the first quarter of 2023, Metland earned operating revenues of IDR322.4 billion ($21,56m) and a net profit of IDR68.2 billion ($4,56m), both rising by 30% and 11%, respectively, from the same period last year.
