A slender simply supported beam is excited with a axial periodic force of amplitude 0.4 times the critical buckling value and frequency of 1.66 times the fundamental natural frequency; these excitation parameters lie in stable region shown by point E in Figure 3.5. As expected from the stability chart shown in Figure 3.5 the response of the beam is stable. Response of the beam is shown in Figure 3.7 (C).
