In this lesson I will show you my 5 favorite licks from a killer performance of the George Gershwin classic “Summertime” performed by a pair of today’s best young guitarists, Billy Strings and Marcus King. These licks are taken from their performance at Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville, Tennessee.

Both players make tasteful use of the E blues scale, with notes mixed in from the dorian, natural and harmonic minor scales. Also, Billy is playing a '36 000-28 and Marcus is playing a '54 Telecaster. Guitar Heaven!
